Bio

Named “Artist to Watch” by SheBOPS Zine (USA) in 2024, Semiah is more than delivering on that claim in 2025 — earning a DORA Award for Outstanding Composer, completing a successful Canadian west coast tour, receiving a scholarship for Canada’s Music Incubator, invited as support act for Aysanabee and Jully Black, and premiering her directorial debut music video at Finland’s renowned Skábmagovat Film Festival.

Hailing from Six Nations and based in Toronto, Semiah has called the stage home since age 5 – and whether an intimate club or outdoor open air festival, her personality and animated story-telling own the stage like a playful dervish, disrupting expectations and spinning love spells that elicit swoons and encores from first-time concert goers.

Semiah’s sonic signature bridges the two worlds she naturally inhabits: electrified, synth-laced hyperpop channels her urban party-gurl spirit, while twang-tinged acoustic ballads reveal her tender interior shaped by childhood exposure to forest life and country classics. Her songs are bound together by her unmistakable alpine vocal tone—glittering with subtle Haudenosaunee influence—and confessional lyrics that dig deep into love, fear, recklessness, and resilience.

LVR GRL is Semiah’s sophomore EP, releasing in three episodes, with the first single, Clementine, dropping 08 08 25. Inspired by the imagined perspective of the lead character in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Clementine reflects Semiah’s own frustrating attempt to erase the memory of a failed relationship. The official video nods to the film and will be spotlighted in a nationally aired APTN “making of” interview aired alongside the video release.

As she did with Clementine, Semiah directed, produced and choreographed the official video for 2024 single 'Withdrawals', that features powerpuff characters pouncing in the snowy Alberta mountains like an Indigenous Charlie's Angels. The song was co-produced with Montreal’s Teleh0rn.

Semiah’s debut single 'Nothing Can Kill My Love for You' garnered over 100,000 streams, and tracks from debut EP 'After The Night Ends' continue to be featured on CBC radio programs Here & Now, AfterDark and Drive with Rich Terfry.

Alongside her music, Semiah is an innovative visual artist, crafting immersive live experiences, original wardrobe pieces, and handcrafted merch—all of which bring her song themes to life through tangible art.
