Semiah, the trailblazing Kanien’kehà:ka (Mohawk) pop electro-RnB songwriter, producer, and multidisciplinary artist effortlessly traverses a spectrum of emotions through her versatile writing style. Semiah provides the perfect soundtrack for every moment in your life, whether you're in the mood to dance, have a good cry, or simply vibe with the universe. 

Semiah's honeyed vocals make each song unmistakable, and her live performances are unparalleled, balancing vocal prowess, vulnerability, and a genuine connection with her audiences. Semiah’s unique sound pays homage to her traditional Haudenosaunee heritage, defying genres by combining RnB, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Indigenous Vocal Techniques, Post-Punk, and Dreampop. Semiah is inspired by the lyricism of Frank Ocean & Rage Against the Machine, the vocal stylings of Summer Walker & Willow, all with the sun-drenched liquid-light sounds of Tame Impala and MGMT.

ARTISTIC HISTORY

Semiah's artistic journey began with an early passion for music, where she not only immersed herself in piano and singing lessons but also graced international stages with her dance performances during childhood. After briefly exploring visual art and animation, she experienced a pivotal return to her musical roots at seventeen, delving into the traditional songs of her community and reigniting her fervor for music. In her late teens, Semiah boldly embraced experimentation with contemporary production and mainstream writing styles. Her diverse array of experiences has endowed her with a unique outlook on the world, evident in the vibrant tapestry of cultural influences intricately woven into her compositions. Semiah's songs, resonating with themes of love, fear, resilience, and recklessness, stand as a melodic chronicle of an artist whose perspective has been enriched by a multitude of global encounters and profound reflection.

Semiah's rapid success began with her debut, "Nothing Can Kill My Love for You," hitting 100,000 streams since 2021. Her self-produced EP, "After the Night Ends," released in 2023, features standout tracks like "Celestial Bodies," a love letter to her Haudenosaunee ancestors. Born into a performing arts family, Semiah grew up on stages that have molded her into a seasoned performer seamlessly transitioning from intimate shows to stadium performances.
